{Mosaic}

About six months ago I had a friend, Abby, who wanted me to teach her how to make a mosaic. We worked on her mosaic everyday and when it was completed a few weeks later she planned a big unveiling party. We all had to wear black and pearls. Unfortunately two hours before the party a big gust of wind picked it up (I have no idea how because it weighs like 100 pounds) and chucked it off of her outdoor fireplace.

I'm so proud of her because she picked up all the pieces and put them back together again. This time she had it professionally mounted :-).

Anyways, I think you will agree it turned out AMAZING. So amazing that she has inspired me to start a new goal. I am going to apply to every stinking art festival until someone lets me in!

I better start working because I am fresh out of mosaics. Can't wait!!

Sincerely,

P.S. I've come to find that some people aren't exactly sure what a mosaic is-
It's art that is made up of tiny pieces of glass. We take large sheets of stained glass and cut them up with special tools and then piece them together.

{Arcadian Home Decor Guest Post}

Today I am pleased to publish a guest post from Kenny from the Arcadian Home Decor Blog!

Read below for some of his great takes on Kitchen Nooks-

Home decor is all about optimizing space, and quite often kitchens are equipped with a few unique nooks. They can be used to showcase dinnerware or act as a casual eat-in area. Outfitted with table decor, wall decor and more, they can become stylish additions to any cuisinaire.

Here are eight beautiful kitchen nooks that will inspire you:

Office space

Kitchens are one of the busiest areas of a home and can be the perfect spot for a small built-in office space, ideal for homework, keeping track of finances and other tech to-dos.

Cozy dining

Take advantage of an extra alcove in a kitchen by converting it into an eat-in vignette with added bench seating.

Couch loungin'

A built-in couch looks stylish and inviting when paired with a casual table and chairs. This set-up looks beautiful with vases of flowers or symmetrical wall art.

Retro corner

Make a kitchen nook reminiscent of a 50s-style diner with bright colours, retro chairs and light fixtures or a great framed print on the wall.

China wall

Use the added space that a nook provides by showcasing dinnerware, including charger plates, vases, teacups, and pitchers.
